Phoenix Mine The Prince of Wales engine house at Phoenix Mine in Minions was completed in 1909. It was the last copper mine built on Caradon Hill. It’s now a ruin and the track leading to the mine buildings and the houses below was originally a railway line to take away the ore. Here sheep find shade on a bright September morning with the berries full-red on the hawthorn trees. Paper print size 20" x 13.5" |

The Knavocks These are the cliffs looking towards Godrevy point & the lighthouse at the eastern end of St.Ives Bay. Straight ahead & far away on the skyline is the town of St.Ives itself. The Atlantic Ocean rounds the base of the cliffs & every few years another few thousands of tons of land slip into the sea below. Many of the inaccessible beaches beneath these cliffs fill with seals basking in the spring sunshine. A small herd of wild shetland ponies lives year round on these cliffs & heathland between Hell's Mouth a mile behind and Gwithian, a mile ahead & around the end of Godrevy point. Available as canvas print only

In the Derbyshire Hills I painted this after visits to the Peak District. In Victorian times wealthy mill owners bought large tracts of the Derbyshire hills & built big houses and walled gardens with echoes of classical architecture. Now lie in ruins, taken over by the beech trees, tall soft grasses, & rhododendron thickets originally planted to embroider the old drives from the lodges to the big home. This is such a landscape of broken walls, beech woods & an overgrown drive above the Goyt Valley, reclaimed by nature. Edition size: 95 |

Fresh Pastures Sheep are being moved from the old orchard field across the yard to new pasture on a misty & be-dewed early November morning. The last leaves cling to hedgerow trees silhouetted against the rising hills of Bodmin Moor in the distance. Edition size: 95 |

December, Silver & Gold As I walk past Kego's meadow on the way to my studio I always look over the gate. Sometimes, in certain lights, especially in the crisp frost or snow of midwinter it has a magical quality. Edition size: 95

Towards Pendeen, The old upper levant Mine Around 100 years ago this was a working mine which tunnelled out under the sea bed in search of tin & other metals. Now the old stacks rise from the ruins of the engine houses with the far-off view of Pendeen Lighthouse on the cliffs to the east. Between upper Levant & Pendeen, just out of view lies Geevor, a mine that worked up until relatively recently. Edition size: 95 |

Below Treverbyn Not far below Treverbyn Bridge is a corner pool – one of the best salmon pools in Cornwall. Continuing downstream, with the depths of the pool on the left, the river runs shallower until it rounds the bend and comes to the weir pool where the take-off runs to the mill a mile further on. Occasional wild daffodils and wood anemones grow in the woods which line the banks for several miles yet. Edition size - 95 Paper image size - 508mm x 340mm / 14" x 20" Frame size - 660mm x 515mm / 26" x 20" Mounted £110, plus £10 P & P (UK) |

Towards Castick Woods The early morning sun brings the autumn colours to brilliant life in
the old stone-walled fields below the moor. A valley mist hangs over
the river as it runs through the oak and beech woods below. |

Moments of reflection For many years I traveled to East Anglia in December. Beside the wide, slow waters of the Deben, Orwell and Stour, it was easy to find time for contemplation in the peace of a winter’s evening – the only sounds the quiet lapping of water and the call of a curlew or oyster catcher. Edition size - 95Paper image size - 508mm x 340mm / 14" x 20" Frame size - 660mm x 515mm / 26" x 20" Mounted £110, plus £10 P & P (UK) |
