Around 100 years ago this was a working mine which tunnelled out under the sea bed in search of tin & other metals. Now the old stacks rise from the ruins of the engine houses with the far-off view of Pendeen Lighthouse on the cliffs to the east. Between upper Levant & Pendeen, just out of view lies Geevor, a mine that worked up until relatively recently.
