Gerry Hillman Landscape Prints – On the Knavocks
These are the cliffs looking towards Godrevy point & the lighthouse at the eastern end of St.Ives Bay. Straight ahead & far away on the skyline is the town of St.Ives itself. The Atlantic Ocean rounds the base of the cliffs & every few years another few thousands of tons of land slip into the sea below.
Many of the inaccessible beaches beneath these cliffs fill with seals basking in the spring sunshine. A small herd of wild shetland ponies lives year round on these cliffs & heathland between Hell’s Mouth a mile behind and Gwithian, a mile ahead & around the end of Godrevy point.
